"Remember this device" is not working
The "Remember Device" feature for MFA uses the following rules to determine whether to remember a device (if any of these rules change, the system will reset the remembered device):
- Same IP address: The device must be accessing from the same IP address as the previous successful authentication. Check if your router is set to use a Dynamic IP address. It this is the case, you need to change this setting.
- Same device: The device must be the same as the one used in the previous successful authentication.
- Same browser: The user must log in using the same browser (and version) as the previous successful authentication. If the browser is updated, the system will ask you for the authentication code once again.
NOTE: If you browse privately (or in incognito mode), the details and preferences of your browsing aren’t saved, and you will need to add the MFA code every time you log in.
- Maintaining the cache: The device must have the same cache settings and data as the previous successful authentication. If you clear your cache, you will be asked for the code.
- Enabling third-party cookies on your web browser: Cookies are small files that save basic data that allow your browser to remember your preferences or activity on a website. To enable third-party cookies, select your browser from the list below, and follow the instructions:
-
- Chrome
- Firefox
- Edge
- Safari (Mac / iPad or iPhone)
NOTE: If you are using the code sent to your email but the system doesn't accept it, here are some recommendations to avoid this issue:
-
Please open your email in a separate browser from where you logged in (to prevent the login page from reloading).
-
Wait at least 5 minutes for the code to arrive in your inbox. If you click on "resend code," it will automatically override the first one.
-
Don't refresh or reload your login page. This will also prevent the first code from working.
-
Change browsers or clear your cache.
